PAW Fund’s primary mission is to keep animals in their homes and out of shelters, so we typically have only a few pets available for adoption. Most often, these are owner-surrendered pets that we take in instead of sending to an animal shelter.

Adoption Fees
PAW Fund charges an adoption fee that includes the costs of spay/neuter, microchip, and all vaccines before adoption. Adoption fees are not tax deductible. Please understand that as a non-profit group, we are not subsidized by the taxpayer like your local municipal animal shelter, neither do we have the high level of donations that the large organizations have. When these groups and agencies run ‘clear the the shelter’ events, or offer ‘free’ adoptions, they are able to do that because they have built in clinics which, while expensive to run, means that they already have a paid staff to perform spay or neuter surgeries and can provide medical services for adoptable pets ‘in house’.
- Adoption fees vary depending on whether we have had high vet bills on the pet or on other factors but our usual fee for adopting a pup or dog is $400, though if we have incurred high medical bills on an animal, we do ask that adopters make a donation towards that.
- $150 for kittens and cats.
